The 10-Minute Reset (For When Life Feels Like Too Much)
Share
Let’s be honest.
Some days aren’t peaceful.
Some days feel like one long to-do list… with no end… and somehow you’re already behind before your coffee even kicks in.
And then you see things like:
“Just relax.”
“Be present.”
“Find your inner peace.”
…okay but how exactly?
Real-Life Zen (Not the Pinterest Version)
Here’s the truth:
You don’t need a perfect house.
You don’t need silence.
You don’t need an hour of meditation.
You just need a few minutes to reset your brain before it completely checks out.
That’s it.
This is my go-to when life feels like a lot (which is… often).
Step 1: Make your coffee
(Non-negotiable.)
Step 2: Light a candle or grab your favorite scent
This is the moment your brain goes, “okay… we’re doing something different now.”
Step 3: Sit down with a blanket
Yes, even if it’s the middle of the day. No rules here.
Step 4: Do absolutely nothing for a minute
No phone. No thinking about dinner. No solving problems.
Just sit.
What This Actually Does
It’s not about being “Zen” in some perfect way.
It’s about:
- Slowing your thoughts down
- Giving your body a break
- Not reacting to everything for a few minutes
Because when you don’t pause… everything stacks up. And suddenly you’re overwhelmed over something small—like someone breathing too loud.
A Little Reminder (You Probably Need)
You don’t have to:
- Finish everything today
- Have it all together
- Be in a good mood all the time
You’re allowed to pause.
Even if your house isn’t clean.
Even if your list is still long.
Even if life is a little chaotic.
Your Reset Starts Small
You don’t need a full routine.
You just need:
- A warm drink
- A calming scent
- A quiet moment
And maybe… just maybe… a break from everything for 10 minutes.
Final Thought
Take a deep breath.
Relax your shoulders.
Drink your coffee
…and maybe don’t fight anyone today.
